Add a HP Printer to a non-managed Linux Desktop/ Laptop

Please find the below steps on how to add fleet (managed) HP printer onto your unmanaged Linux desktop or laptop.

1. Navigate to Settings and under Devices select Printers. This will take you to the following window:

2. In the bottom right hand corner, select Additonal Printer Settings. The Printers window will open, in the top left corner select Add.

3. Choose Network Printer and Internet Printing Protocol (https). In Device URL, you will need to enter the queue name and login details in the following format:

https://aaw123:qmulpassword@mobileprint.qmul.ac.uk:9164/printers/MyPrint

NOTE: Please use your ITS username and password.

5. Choose Select Printer from database> Generic (recommended).

6. The next window will allow you to give the printer a name so that it is easily identified. Type under Printer Name (all other fields are optional) and select Apply.

7. You are now ready to print! The printer will now appear under your list of devices, we encourage you to set this to default.

8. Right click the device and select Set to Default.
