Troubleshooting Windows 10

There have been a couple of instances on Windows 10 where initiating an existing connection to eduroam is prompting repeatedly for user credentials for authentication.

Here are the steps to resolve the issue:

1. Click on the Start button, then click Settings

2. Click Network & Internet

3. Click on Manage Wi-Fi Settings

4. Scroll down to the bottom and look for Manage known networks and a list of networks the device has previously connected to.

5. Click eduroam then click Forget

6. Sign out or reboot the machine and then log back in

7. Click on the WiFi/network symbol in the bottom right corner of the screen to bring up the list of detected WiFi networks

8. Click eduroam. Ensure that connect automatically is checked then click Connect

9. Enter username (in the format abc123@qmul.ac.uk for staff or ab12345@qmul.ac.uk for students) and password then click OK

10. At the connection message, click Connect
