IMAP Account Management With SmartSieve

The web-based IMAP Mail Account Management utility, SmartSieve, enables you to manage several features of your personal email account, including the setting of vacation messages, filter rules and mail forwarding. Setting options and filters centrally with SmartSieve means that they will be applied to your mail account regardless of where you read your mail or which mail client you use to read and send mail. Note that SmartSieve cannot be used on shared mailboxes.

On accessing SmartSieve you will prompted to log in via the IDcheck screen using your central staff (IMAP) username and password if you have not already done so in your current session. This will produce the following screen:

The menu bar enables you to carry out the following actions:

  • Create a New Rule - to sort, reject or forward incoming mail.
  • View Filter Rules - list and edit your filter rules.
  • Filter Spam - identified by SpamAssassin
  • Forward Mail - forward all mail to another address.
  • Whitelist - Specify email addresses that you want to bypass spam filters.
  • Set Vacation Settings - to create a message to be sent automatically when your are away.
  • Manage Scripts - scripts are collections or groups of filter rules and/or vacation messages. You can create multiple scripts and activate or deactivate them to suit your needs.

If you haven't already logged in to it, start SmartSieve in a new browser window.
