Governance

IT Services will apply industry best practice and common sense principles to create a unified, business-led IT culture at Queen Mary University of London. This Governance section outlines the measures in place to help achieve our IT Strategy that is designed to meet the needs of our students and Schools, Institutes and Directorates within QMUL.

IT Services has an overarching governance board, known as the Infrastructure Strategy Group (ISG), which is responsible for delivering the IT Strategy/IT Enabling Plan. The Board convenes monthly and is chaired by a member of Council with senior representation from all areas of QMUL to make sure that the needs of both students and staff are met. Business-led steering committees take place and are attended by IT Services’ senior management to work with the stakeholders to help prioritise and govern services that are provided to the key business areas.

IT Services has a number of committees comprising of key stakeholder representation and senior IT staff to oversee and govern the internal activities within the department ensuring they are in the interest of our students and staff. These committees are accountable to ISG through the Chief Information Officer and his IT Lead team (ITLT), which consists of the IT Assistant Directors and Faculty Relationship Managers to represent the user community.
