The College provides extensive computing facilities and support for staff and students, with PCs and Apple Macs being used throughout the College. Student and Teaching FaciltiesIT Services provides several open access computer rooms (some with extended opening times) for class teaching and individual use. These enable around 1300 students to use computers on campus during an average term-time afternoon. The Student PC network forms part of a Local Area Network linking the college to JANet (Joint Academic Network) and the internet, providing access to electronic mail, the World Wide Web and other information sources for all members of the College. The PC network also provides a wide range of software including standard word-processing, database and spreadsheet applications, program compilers and statistics and graphics packages. Halls of Residence and Wireless Network AccessNetwork points are provided in Halls of Residence on all campuses, giving controlled, monitored access to the internet from most study bedrooms.
